6th circuit’s net neutrality decision appears to remove broadband regulation from the hands of the FCC. It’s going to be very interesting in the industry as the states try to figure out what to do.

Connecting Hoosiers: 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘢 𝘈𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 $81.5𝘔 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘏𝘪𝘨𝘩-𝘚𝘱𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘉𝘳𝘰𝘢𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘹𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯. Indiana has allocated $81.5 million through the Next Level Connections Broadband Grant Program to enhance high-speed broadband in unserved and underserved areas. This funding, combined with additional contributions from providers, will total $216 million and extend service to over 34,000 homes and businesses. • Comcast: Receives $9.4M for projects in multiple counties. • Charter: Receives $9.3M, the second-largest award. • Surf Internet: Wins $8.5M, continuing its successful track record. • Berry Comm: Awarded $7M for statewide deployments. • AT&T: Secures nearly $6.6M. Other recipients include Brightspeed, Frontier, Clay County RTC, and several rural electric cooperatives and small providers. In total, 17 providers will receive funding. What do all broadband providers that are hitting their aggressive growth targets have in common? A great marketing leader. One that understands their customers, can speak their language, and helps set the culture internally to align with the CUSTOMER’S desired experience. Lots of BSPs can build a solid network. These pix of Cellcom billboards were taken in December in Wisconsin and were in new Wave7 Research postpaid report. WI regional carrier had top offer of "up to $850 on all phones" in Dec. Report also had UScellular billboard pic of "4 free phones & 4 lines" at $90/mo. In 2025, Wave7 will continue to cover the regional carriers. Radio was loud in Dec, with Verizon, T-Mobile, and Cricket among the top 5 in radio airings during 12/9-15, with roughly 40K airings each during that week. AT&T steady w/message of 20% savings on wireline or wireless when bundling the two. Mediacom TV ad touting wireless/wireless bundle at $49.99/mo for 1 year. https://lnkd.in/gxh6847p

It's been six months since I took over as GM of Point Broadband Hagerstown. Offering a more customer-centric approach that is more responsive and tailored ☑ 4) Recruiting and hiring strong - local leaders - to facilitate growth ☑ 5) Redefine our market engagement - through community service, philanthropic endeavors, and non-profit support... Have you ever heard someone say that fiber is "Future Proof"? It's fascinating to consider how durable, scalable, and resilient fiber optic infrastructure really is ... especially when compared to other data transport types like Wireless, DSL, and Coaxial. All of these mediums have needed several expensive network upgrades in order to keep up with rising data demands. "... fiber broadband has no known expiration date and is the only communications medium that can support both existing and future applications for many decades with no infrastructure changes." So, when you hear us say that fiber is "future proof", it's because it is! Fiber passings are an important metric when gauging the opportunity a broadband provider has. But if you’re trying to look at the HEALTH of a BSP, you need to look at actual subscribers and penetration rate. That + opportunity will drive valuation.
